Hi all,

I know it's a long shot, but anyone want to run this river with me tomorrow?

I'm from out of town and don't have anyone to run it with, but I was eyeballing it today and it looks awesome.

All the dams make me pretty nervous about running it alone...

Thanks,
Alex

So far rough plan is: Drive from Chicago to the needles. Do a couple of big climbs there and at Devils tower, then head south through Colorado. In CO bag a fourteener (thanks for the suggestion), check out some whitewater in Gorge Canyon (Thanks again for the suggestion), then boat/ climb with a friend in Durango. After CO hit Moab (climbing/ canyoneering), and a hot spring on the way to Yosemite. Climb/ boat in Yosemite. Then head to Phoenix for the new gig.

Still have time to fill if anyone has any other suggestions for rivers, climbs, or other cool things I should hit on the way.

Cheers,
~Alex

Thanks for the Suggestion! Anyone else have some more dirt bag paddler location suggestion?

Hi Paddlers,

I'm taking a road trip from 8/18 to 9/10, starting in Chicago and eventually ending in Phoenix for a new Job. I would love to get some paddling in, but don't have a partner. Are there any rivers, so popular that if I showed up and waited around for a few hours I could find someone to paddle with even on weekdays? Are there camping areas specifically known for dirt-bag paddlers, like there are for dirt bag rock climbers?

I'm also a rock climber and know of a few areas, where you are guaranteed to find dirtbag climbers to climb with if you show up, but I didn't know if the same thing existed for whitewater kayaking.

Cheers,
~Alex
