I had tried the Jefe Chico...got me down the Green narrows but I couldn't roll it in moving water. Then went to the Recon70. What a heavy beast. Once again still had problems rolling it. I think it was I have a short torso and not enough to hip snap it over. I had the Recon70 and I felt pushed around alot. I had the seat all the way back.

the OLD salto is lighter and it is longer and narrower which makes it easier for me to roll. I did Little River Canyon Upper two and Chairlift this past winter and Tellico. I did great on the tellico with it. I felt more confident to move it around. Could make my moves. Also South Sauty at 28 inches (which is big). I took it on the Ocoee last weekend and felt good.

I look forward to paddling it more. I have not taken it out on the Cheoah yet.

Currently I am weighing in at 126 lbs.

Seriously? Can you give some more input, please, I'm curious what you like best about it. I'd paddle it some, but my son would use it the most.

They're up and going again for about 1.5 years I think.

I understand it's an older design but I see that they are making them again in Germany. I also see them used nearby sometimes and was thinking about checking it out. How does the boat function compare to more recent designs?
