Thanks for the reply. I've paddled a playboat for years cause that's the only boat I owned, so I'm used to it and I roll it very well. However, I don't like to play that much. I mean, if I'm running a new river for the first time, I just want to stay upright as much as I can and get downriver. Once i know a river well, I can play.
Thanks for the advice, I'll try to keep this stuff on mind.

Thanks for the info! I think I already might be a keelhaulers member but I gotta check.. I would like to go with their trip.
It's great timing too, cause school doesn't start until Sept 6 for me.

Thanks for the response! Idk if I'll make it this time, but I'm thinking I'll try the lower gauley in september. Would you recommend a creeker or playboat on the New for the first time? My creeper punches holes better, but my roll is less confident in the creek boat.

I'm trying to run the New (in WV) for the first time, and I was wondering if anyone who knows the river well wants to paddle with me this week or next week.

Due to insane amounts of traffic in New Jersey I can't make it to ohiopyle tonight, so I will have to drive out tomorrow, and do the Lower Y instead.

I'm camping in ohiopyle tonight and driving out to the Cheat tomorrow.. I mean, I was really hoping to do the Cheat tomorrow, before the water goes down even more, and do the Savage or Lower Y on sunday..

We're looking to run the Cheat on Saturday and looking for someone to do shuttle and run the river with, we're from NJ so don't really know anyone up in WV.

Anyone up for it?
