Since the big question at this year's freestyle Worlds was "Where's the American team?", I tend to doubt it. The Olympics are based on the spirit of international competition and the de facto teams divide down corporate lines, not national. If the only thing the outcome of the Worlds proves is who spent more money on marketing for the last two years, why would the Olympic Committee just hand over a huge marketing platform to kayak companies? Why not skateboarding or dodgeball or dwarf tossing?
Rodeo will more likely develop into an exhibition sport like professional wrestling. Jackson Kayak will become the Harlem Globetrotters of whitewater, and they will all sew luchador masks for themselves.
