Does anyone have any statistics or know of any videos that might be helpful in giving a new boater some perspective on how powerful and potentially dangerous the river can be? She's been out on the French Broad once on rapids too small to even class and is sending me videos of the Upper Green, and the Narrows as something that she wants to try on our next trip. She bought a Pelican 100 from Dick's Sporting Goods the day after our trip. I told her that I've been paddling for over 10 years and wouldn't venture a run at the Narrow. She told me that I'm over cautious. This is true and also not helping me to make my point.
