This is going to be my public journal as I begin my path as a kayaker. This is basically from start, as I am just now beginning my endeaver, to what will be the present or future. Can you keep up?

To begin, my name is Jay and I live in Bowling Green, KY. I am a 37 year old father of two georgous little girls whom I hope to someday have as paddleing companions though that is far into the future. I just purchased my first boat, a Liquid Logic Remix XP10, the third week of July. I got this boat as there are not any true whitewater rivers here in my area so I will be doing a lot of flatwater until the winter months beckon me to Eastern Tennessee. This boat seemed to be the best all around and am love with it. Although I would really like a Jeffe Grande or CR250 for a true WW yak.

I have a dear friend who I found out was a kayaker as I met him. I was already in the running to get a boat, which was going to be a Jackson Coosa fishing boat. But talking with him I knew I had a WW friend who could teach me some stuff. As it seems I think I am going to be teaching him some stuff. I hope that does not sound arrogent but I have a knack for studying and learning everything I can about things I have a passion about and I can not quit reading and learning about this sport. I long for the days when I get to apply it on the water. I have attempted to roll with Mark's instruction and have co0me close several times, however I can not grasp the movements on his instruction so I have found a local instructor and am going out with him in 2 day to learn to roll my boat. His name is Darrell Shaw and is director of the outdoor activity center at WKU. I am super pumped and hope to make a friendship bond with him and take him on some rivers to repay his teachings.
