want to hit every rock in the river? better be on your game

5 out of 10

for your average paddler, this would be great on pool drop rivers where most of the rapids are straight shots. Its horrible on anything tight, steep, rocky, funky water, etc.. leave the races to the pros, because in this thing you'll catch a line and see the rock you're about to smash into 20 ft before you hit it, and not be able to steer clear of the way.

It's good for flatwater sprints, straightshot rapids, and pro races. if you want to bash into rocks, go with an old school cheap longboat.

here is another review that shows the length compared to one of the best short boats: http://cksblog.com/?p=757
