If I read the proposal correctly, it is that our elected leaders will not get their pensions unless any rescue plan actually makes money for the taxpayer. Since we all know that the taxpayer is going to lose money on any plan, this is functionally the same as saying "let's take away the pension of our elected officials because the economy is in trouble." That's not accountability, that's petulance.

At a minimum this proposal would incent our elected leaders to do absolutely nothing, because the only sure way to ensure taxpayers don't lose money on a plan is to not pass one at all.
