It seems childish to lash out at authority figures when life is not going the way you want. I say lash out because it's glaringly obvious that taxpayers are going to lose money on any deal. That's not really the question. The question is, if we don't do a govt. program that costs hundreds of billions, will we lose trillions as the private markets crash? That's a pretty stout bet, and we are making it whether we like it or not. We can't just wish the problem away by blaming elected leaders.
