I think that if private investors are spending their own money, they're gonna be very careful to get value for it. Probably this means they'll pay less than what Paulson proposes to pay. Unlesss Paulson gets his money, in which case nobody knows whether he'll overpay or not- but signs point to him over-paying.
Word on the street... is that there's a lot of money lined up to buy these goods, but that the sellers are holding off until they get a bid from treasury.
Either way, this is gonna be an interesting next month or three.
