The Vibe really dosent compare to a real surf boat with fins when it comes to true surfing.  The boat is much much slower comparatively, limiting top and bottom turns, cutbacks, acceleration down the wave, etc.

That being said, the Vibe is great for a hybrid style of surfing, with much more emphasis on big tricks.  Its a lot of fuin to throw big air blunts, cartwheels, flat spins, and loops, all going down the face of a wave.  I spend about as much time in my vibe in the ocean as i do my surf boat, but I am doing very different things in each.  If you want to truly surf the waves, consider a glass surf boat.  If you want to play around and practice some big moves, the Vibe might be for you
