I just tried to ship a boat from the Oxnard CA. station to a buyer in Worchester MA. I was turned down. I talked to a supervisor named Camille Thomas, 312.655.3693 Ms Thomas explained to be that Amtrak has recently changed their policy and no longer ships kayaks, surfboards, bikes, and scooters. The other side to this change is for people like me who travel to other states to paddle. I will no longer be able to bring my boat with me to the river of my choice unless I drive. Feel free to call and express your opinion, I think she is aware of my feelings in this matter. Another source I am looking at is www.forwardair.com. They have very few shipping locations but the price may be worth it...
