To be brutally honest, it's not really "surfing".  It's bouncy rodeo moves in the whitewater.  
On a more positive note, it looked like fun and I think its great that they're sharing video with the community.  Guys get some pretty big air (bounce) on some waves.  I'm sure there's a rodeo name for it that I don't know.
