First I want to thank Dave for steping up and hosting the clam slam. It is a very difficult and thankless job he did a great job at a great location ideal for spectators and realiable surf.I was blown away only 20 competers and hardly any spectators I was saddened to see how far kayak surfing has fallen on the west coast.I remember my first contest in 1999 at cardiff reef in san Diego and camping at San Elijo park, the park was full of kayakers and a wait list for many kayak catagories. Events at San Onofre, Ventura had 2 big events a year and the list goes on what has happened???????????Hope everyone REALLY makes an effort to attend JALAMA this year the first and only event done just for the STOKE of it.
