	Paddling from the mouth of the Yealm back to Wembury yesterday afternoon I was heading due West into a solid 2ft swell, but the wind was also from the West and blowing force 5-6!!!  By the time I got to the beach I was expecting a decent wave (and a hairy landing in my 14ft long Arctic Tern), only to find it blown flat by the wind; the waves were 1ft at best.  When I got home the Bantham camera looked pretty flat too.  Longer fetch further East I guess. Ho hum... Chris
