Plus this afternoon gotta start driving to make Rush show in Charlotte.
Good session yesterday anyhow.
I surfed at Iron Steamer between Atlantic and Emerald Isle.
Just a few surfers in the water and a few tourists at the shore in the water.
There was some poundy shorebreak sometimes, had to pick your moment and sprint like a mo-fo to get out.
One you were out you could play in the first set about half way out for decent mid sized stuff, or keep paddling out.
When all the way out (good distance from beach) things cleaned up considerably, and big assed waves were the norm. At least they seemed big to me.
One of the surfers said 'hi' to me, which is always nice.
I noticed that the Mini on the big waves seems to project out from the wave some, riding like just the last foot or two of the boat is connected to the wave (lots of lift I guess). The whole boat turns from the back of the boat. Maybe I should have been leaning forward more. Any thoughts? I swear the fins weren't even in the water when I was on the steep part of the wave.
