question Creek boat in the surf New

Forum: SurfZone

From: RWar

I cracked the hull on my creekboat (about 18" behind the seat and just off center) and then had it welded. I don't trust it now for any rocky runs so I was thinking about leaving it at my girlfriends  vacation house (on the central coast of Calif) to use for surfing.
I only go down there 3 or 4 times a year and I'm no surfer (more of a have-fun-while-getting-pummeled-by-the-waves kinda boater)
Anyone try a creeker in the surf and like to comment about how it handles? Just an exercise in frustration or does it do ok?
The boat is a Riot Magnum.
Thanks,
Bob
