If you continue south of the reactors into the state park there are six or seven day use parking areas with trails heading down to waves. The crowd factor at trails is about the least you'll encounter in this part of the world. The walk down is around 15 minutes and is only steep for the last grade to the beach. most popular is trail six and the first couple don't always break well, but are worth a look and have the best chance of scoring uncrowded waves. I haven't paddle surfed trails in years but when I did there were never any problems with lifeguards or other surfers. IME wave quality is better at trails than sano, seems a little more powerful and focused, but it's more or less an extension of the same coast.
