On crowded breaks what you are doing really creates a bad image for paddle surfers. Typically called shoulder hopping, and it what make SUPs so loved. Learn to take your spot in the line up and hit the peak when it's your turn. You will learn a lot more respect and will become a lot better surfer. If the break is too crowded for you to catch the peak and surf in control you should be somewhere else besides where the boardies are. It's a big ocean and a long surf kayak can surf spots that are less desirable and still have a good time.
