Hi,

New to this site and am from Devon, UK.

I surf at Saunton Sands, a slow wave with ill defined peaks but very popular now.

Here is the scene.

I have a long boat that is easy to take off with (Mega Bullit S) but slower than surf boards. I am furthest out and catch a wave, but am some way from the peak. I am riding the wave but a board surfer now catches the wave close to the peak, and being faster, now catches up with me. Who has right of way, the person who was first on the wave or the person closest to peak?
