I had my new quad fin setup out on a really good test day and really loved them...once I found a balance. After reading a ton of confusing and conflicting info on placement I went with a setup slightly closer to the rail and slightly closer together than Chris had recommended. Thanks for the help Chris, I probably would have gone with a standard thruster without your input.

They generate fantastic speed, ( I had big clean waves) and remained useful even in very tight turns. I had 2.5's on the rail 3.25's in the rear boxes when I was getting my best feel. I haven't tried larger fins up front and smaller in the rear yet but that's the next step...or maybe 2.5's in both boxes. If I could place them again after trying it I would move my boxes forward about 3 inches because the further forward I moved the fins the more effect they had.

This set up gives you a baffling number of combinations to try and I'm sure it will take a lot of time to figure out the best set of fins for the conditions. Thanks for listening to fin babble................Gary

Here's some pics of the set up, I still need to spray the hull yellow now that the boxes are in, otherwise the Zyzyx is all finished. I learned a lot from this boat and as always I'm looking forward to the next idea.
