note PFDs, What are you wearing?  When to replace? New

I have lots of different PFDs but I've been wearing a Lotus Sherman for years, It fits weather I'm paddling a hardshell, IK, or rowing it doesnt have much floatation but it's nonrestrictive when swimming and comfortable enough to wear all day. Been thinking of getting a Greenjacket when they're available but I'll see how it fits first.
I was washing gear the other day and noticed some of my Americas Cup  PFDs were made in 1994, They're still in good shape no rips or fading and felt just as buoyant in the barrel as the newer ones (I know its Not a good test but I was only washing them) . Should I just replace them to make myself feel better knowing that they are new (even though new ones will sit unused like these have), Or are 14 yo PFDs still good (I never wear them, they are loaner only). I don't know if I'd want to wear one that old.
