I think it is too early to judge your boats with respect to the glue you use and the "no warranty claim". Lets wait and see in the 5 to 10 year range if you start having all your boats fall apart all at once. I am not trying to bash your boats though. If they end up lasting 8 to 10 years, that works out to less than $200 bucks a year which is less than it cost to rent 1 boat for a week trip each year. Pretty good deal for weekend warriors if they last, 8 years or more. That said, you appear not to know as much as you might think about other manufacturing processes. Welded PVC has been around a long time. I believe AIRE has been welding PVC for a long time. I got a super duper puma for $2650 this year. This boat has a 10 year "no fault" warranty. If I totally F-up that boat they will repair or replace for free for 10 years. Based on their track record that boat should last 15 to 20 years no problem with weekend warrior use, which over the probable life span of the boat will work out to be a similar cost per year as your boats. In addition, it is made in American in your own state, which I think justifies the cost, especially considering the warranty and the expected proven life span of Aire boats. That being said, I am no boat snob - I also have an older Maxxon 14 foot glued PVC self bailer boat that is approaching 7 years old and is holding up great. I find it interesting that you don't post your name and company title and affiliation when you are out advertising this stuff on the web. P.S. I am not involved in the boating sales industry in any fashion. Jason Shappart Everett, WA |
