I have done extended trips on both composite & wood.  I own composite but they just don't feel natural.  I like the feel of the wood oars but the "upkeep" has kept me from pulling the trigger on making the swap.  

I too prefer the wrap & stop on my oars - feathering is nice on flatwater but sometimes has its challenges on technical stuff.
