I know when I was on the Ocoee that was in the foam pile. However at Jaws on the Noli.....I was doing some in and some out of the foam pile, but I'm not sure where which move happened. This was a few years ago, before I started hard boating. Now I'm contemplating to buy a new hardboat (I have issues with a nerve in my butt that goes numb) if I can find one that fits me, an IK or a riverboard.....decisions decisions....
So what are your opinions on the different boats from a river-running and playing point of view. I'd be doing class 3-4 and maybe Lower G type stuff. I'd want something that is quick and responsive but can also surf b/c that is my favorite thing to do on the water.
I've paddled a Maverick a lot and love it. Bandit I don't like as much, tacos easier then the Maverick and not as durable. Thrillseeker I enjoyed paddling but had issues with the heelcups ripping through on an easy run of the Lower Yough.
I've never been in any boat with "actual" thighstraps and footpegs. I just used NRS straps through the drainloops for thigh straps. |
