A lot of info here if you haven't seen it.
They really like the Aire Tributary Strike (Trib series being less expensive, shorter warranty).
I have an Aire Lynx and love it, but it is more money new than you are shooting for.
Out here (west, pretty big water), a lot of outfitters use Hysides -- very stable -- you may want something a bit sportier -- they also have gotten way expensive.
The Aire Force may be closest to hardshell performance, but also tippier than some other IKs (newer Force design less tippy).
Hmmm...maybe it's worth thinking if you are OK to swim as long as you are not "enclosed" or do you really want to minimize the chances of swimming even in an IK. If it's just the "enclosed" thing -- there are WW sit-on-tops like LL Coupe and the Torrent (I forget who makes/made the Torrent).
