I'm organizing a multi-river trip to Costa Rica on Feb 2 - 9 2013 to raise money for Grand Rapids Whitewater (but mostly to get out of the snow and have fun). GRWW is the non-profit group trying to restore rapids to the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids, MI - which will include some kayaking opportunities, among many other benefits.

This was an incredible trip last year. We're using Costa Rica Rios as our outfitter again (the best equipped and staffed in Central America). But the Week of Rivers link gives a pretty good representation of what the trip is like. You have to call Jane or Frasier to sign-up (888) 434-0776 and specify the Grand Rapids Whitewater fundraiser trip. They are in the Central time zone.

The water varies from Class II to Class IV, but you can ride a raft through most anything you're not comfortable with. The guides are incredible and will make sure that you're comfortable and having fun. There is also a package for people who don't paddle. So you can bring along spouse or friend that doesn't know how to paddle! This a beautiful place to spend a week; lots of things to do!
