What a great festival Boaterchick is! The event this year was based out of Smoky Mountain Meadows Campground. There were lots of events, something for everyone. Some of them, like the Cheoah Boatercross, I didn't get to witness, simply because there were so many great things to choose from. I have pics of the Kayak Outfitting Clinic, the Beginning Playboating Clinic, and the festival dinner on Saturday night. Outfitting Clinic, courtesy Ditchbitch: Check out the new pillar he made for my EZ: Playboating Clinic, taught by event organizer Anne Connolly: I think there were 14 in our class! Anne in the water at 3 Hump Rock, giving side surf lessons: Festival Dinner, raffle and awards. The food was excellent. So were the prizes. I won float bags and a T-shirt. They gave away an AT paddle, several helmets, a Jet Boil stove, a Fluid Solo, and other good stuff. Bachelorette party for the lady with the red horns... Music was great too: Here's Anna Levesque doing some Gangsta Rap. JUST KIDDING: Yep, it was rainy, though Saturday weather on the Nanty was just beautiful, sunny with big puffy clouds. If you're thinking about attending the Boaterchick festival, don't hesistate, come on down, it was killer.
