We chose to hike down the riverbed itself to get back to camp. Found a banded water snake... Back at camp it was nice: The next morning, today, we hiked out early so everyone could go visit Mom and have a nice Mother's Day. IF you are looking for a great primitive backpacking destination with amazing scenery I highly recommend The Walls of Jericho preserve. It's near Hytop Al, on Hwy 79 on the border of Tn and Al. Parts of it are in Tn and parts in Al. I will tell you that I have been informed that the Al hike is much shorter though also much steeper than the Tn hike down from the hiker's parking lots.
