I returned to the Walls of Jericho after a few years absence, along with good friends from the bham grotto.
We backpacked in items for an overnight campout. The scenery is incredible this time of year. Wet, too. ;-)
At the trailhead, Alabama side. It's maybe 2 miles to camp but you lose approx. 1200 ft. of elevation.

After setting up camp in a nice designated area, we headed to the Walls of Jericho itself. The trail was ridiculously muddy and perilous, and I really questioned the intelligence of doing it, in the very same sandals I slid off of the cliff whilst wearing them a year ago.

My friend Dave's bare feet did not do better; if they had had more friction I might have been inspired to shed my sandals...

Finally approaching streamside the payoffs were evident for such a journey - just gorgeous:
