...actually, I'm not sure what qualifies as a "charity". I certainly do not donate to any religious organizations, and I generally try not donate to any formally incorporated organizations. However, if you ask anybody who truly knows me well, I'm very confident they would tell you I'm a generous person, and that I like to share what little good fortune I've experienced in life with others, especially with those in need. I guess I just prefer to help people directly who I know that need help and in a way that I know makes difference.
Since you asked, I'm assuming you really want to know, so here it is. I paid for 4 years of university tuition for some one who would not have otherwise been able to attend. I bought an old car once and gave it to some one who didn't have any transportation to get to work. I bought a laptop once for a relative who is a student and couldn't afford a computer. I'm going to be giving some money to a couple of my cousins for x-mas that are incredibly bright, but incredibly broke university students. I also give away alot of meat from animals I kill hunting.
Interestingly, there are people who I've offered help to that prefer to tough it out and not accept outside help from anyone. And, if some one asks me for help I'll always try to help them out however I can given my financial situation at the time. The only type of people don't help to are people who I know to be addicts or acoholics since they will undoubtedly blow it on dope or booze and need to hit the bottom anyway. We each have our own way of doing things.
