Yesterday I went with my caving club to re-visit one of my favorite caves - Gross Skeleton in Guntersville, Al. We did a thru-trip which requires a bit of swimming and a lot of wading. Some folks brought pool noodles to aid in floatation; I wore my old Lola PFD.
Before going in the upper entrance the trip leader assured us that we were welcome to make a decision to skip the trip because if a burst of intense rain hit, we could be trapped in the cave for some hours. But being the wiley paddler I am I knew that a monsoon would have to hit to make much of a difference in the water level. At least that's what I told myself so I wouldn't worry about it.

Inside the main passage past the entrance was a lot of log and leaf debris that we had to climb over and through.

The passage itself was gorgeous, scallopped limestone walls with wading deep pools of water.
