for someone to forcibly ignore a pesky troll if they find themselves unable to do so on their own, and that is to use the User Filter. I think I can speak for all the admins when I say we do our best to take a light hand, so that this board doesn't become one of those over-admin'd places where the atmosphere is SO restrictive that people stop coming here.

Now to switch and speak only for myself:  there have been people who could push my buttons in the past, but I made an effort some time ago to just start letting things go and try to recognize trolls for what they are. I find BoB's point of view pretty absurd and ridiculous most of the time. If he ever does make a good point, I will never see it because it'll be buried in all the tripe he posted before that. This board is what the users make of it. If you don't like someone's posts, don't read them, or filter the user.

That said, if 15 of the first 20 posts (just for example, there is no set percentage) are by the same person who is obviously trolling or putting nonsense posts, then that is an offense that falls under the Personal Playground rule, and admins have suspended users in the past for doing this. Maybe BoB will cross that line; I ignore him so I haven't bothered to start counting posts.

note That's my approach: I never reply directly to him, and rarely post to any thread he starts. Oci-One.Kanubi New
