	The quote comes from Plato's Republic so hold back the dirty jokes :) Almost everyone I know has gone down on a motorcycle at one time or another. Injuries almost always result, even at slow speeds. Besides, if you are thinking it'd give you a few thrills, you'd get bored after a while - it just isn't whitewater boating. A plus is it lets you get out in the elements and do a few hundred miles of sightseeing at low cost, something you wouldn't normally do with a car at these gas prices today. I think scooters are much safer though as they don't weight close to half a ton like motorcycles in low-speed spills. It would help you save $ in fuel if you use it often for errands etc. You should be able to calculate the costs to see if it would pay for itself. It's the 4 wheeled vehicles that you have to watch out for. You would not believe how insignificant and immaterial you become to the drivers of those vehicles. It defies explanation. The only counter you have is to always keep an eye on them and consider them capable of anything.
