	I guess if you were just running around town a scooter would be fine.  Thing is, the larger scooters cost double what a decent used motorcycle runs.  You're right, the speed temptation is there, but it's not necessary to get a CBR 600 as your first bike either.  I'm extremely happy with my 94 Honda Magna 750, and it's not 'hell on wheels'.  Now my VFR800...I gotta watch it with that thing.
