Ryan as VP pick will only alienate

further the women's vote which Romney and the social conservative Republicans have already been doing across the nation with so many laws taking away women's rights on abortion and health care. The moderate Republicans seem to have decided to sit this one out and unfortunately what's left of the Republican party running the numbers didn't learn from the last election about going too far on social issues. The majority of Americans believe in women's rights over their own body. That was the case 20 years ago and it is even more so today. It makes no difference that the media outlets are giving the religious zealots the loudest microphone during this latest election year, people would be mistaken to believe that women are not going to be even more vehement about having control over their own bodies as well as that more Americans still support separation of church and state. It has baffled me to no end in this last year as I've watched one ridiculous law after another taking away women's rights or subjecting women to painful and intrusive procedures for no logical or medically-sound reason. The Republicans are more stupid than I have imagined to not realize this is not only going to piss women off, it's going to send them to the voting booth with a vengeance and for most women it won't be to vote for Romney/Ryan. Women hearing old white men talk about women like it's the 1950's and not allowing women's voices to be heard about laws that only affect women just make me smile at the nails these morons are putting into the Republican coffin.

The candidate who wants to win must have the women's vote. There is no way around that one and while yes, we do have an economy that needs more attention and the growth has been a slow one, the average middle class voter has not had their taxes raised and more people are thankful for the new healthcare law than are against it. The people I run across in Northern VA (somewhat leaning more conservative) were not ignorant of the incredible mess Obama inherited from 8 years of bad policies, one of the main one being the myth of trickle down economics. Ryan and Romney still are holding on to that myth but it has not worked for over a decade that it's been in play and it never will. More people educated themselves about how trickle down and deregulation created the economic problems and it's becoming obvious to even the mentally-challenged voter that it's a crock of shit and always has been. I would opine that as bad as things were when Obama took office, no one in their right mind would think the situation would be turning around in only one term.

It says a lot that Obama is still leading in polls even with a bad economy and Romney outspending him. Ryan's ideas have been found to be too controversial by even many Republicans and the Tea Party he supposedly is the darling of has consistently shown itself to be disproportionately full of racists and uneducated fools. That old adage of 'you are the company you keep' will be one of the reasons people will end up voting Obama back for a second term in my opinion.
