I took the trash out this morning only to find that my mailbox had been knocked off again. This will be the 3rd time I've had to replace it due to vandalism, and I'm looking for some clever ideas to prevent it from happening again. Here's a few I've gotten so far:

Heavy duty steel mailbox. Prefab or homemade

Some sort of rebound device. Either a large spring for the post, or a swivel top - think joust training

My favorite. The Incepti-box. A box inside a box, with the void space full of concrete.

Have any other ideas? What did you do?



This is definitely some karma paying me a visit for being a jackass teenager. I destroyed more than my share of mailboxes at one time in my life, so it's not so much me being pissed I have to replace the thing, or the money and time involved in doing so. I accept that what goes around comes around. At this point, it's more of a challenge to see if I can do more damage than they can... Or at least make them thing twice about this one.
