Lately I've often noticed stories about hardships in Europe. First Greece, then Spain, and today it is Ireland.

I am sometimes cynical about the info presented to us. Regarding the stories of European hardship, I am wondering if they serve a purpose other than information. Are they to serve as a warning about what is ahead of the USA? Are these stories the seeds to frame a political debate for our Presidential election?

Two topics in one post. What is your general news source and why? Ignoring blatant examples, do you feel subtle manipulation is happening with "general" news feeds?
