I am free to apply where I wish, and I'm free to quit anytime. Slavery was abolished a while back, y'know.

I don't see why people insist that the terms and conditions of every relationship must be so rigidly controlled. If you don't like where you're working, quit. If you need employees and aren't getting enough applicants, bump up your compensation and benefits. If you let your personal or religious beliefs rule your life, pick your employer based on how well they suit you. Don't believe in smoking? Don't work for a tobacco company. Think people need redemption? Seek out a religious organization. Think wealth is evil? Work for a nonprofit. Have an altruistic itch? Scratch it by working for a charity. Each one of these organizations should be free to offer whatever "package" they choose, and you should be free to consider them against your own list of desires and requirements.

You probably don't want MY list of ideals imposed on you or your employer, and I'm pretty certain I don't want YOUR list of ideals imposed on me or my employer either. Why can't we just agree to let people make their own choices?
