Never, never, NEVER, EVER!!! I have a good friend doing 10 years on a plea bargain he took rather than face 70 years plus, despite the fact that he was completely innocent, despite the fact that all of the witnesses recanted, despte the fact that there was no evidence agsinst him whatsoever OTHER than his awkward attempts to clear things up when the police came to interview him. The only evidence left against him was his own statement, and being blindsided by the police and wanting to get rid of them to get back to his patients his statement ended up being twisted against him.

NEVER, talk to the police without an attorney present, unless it's to buy them a doughnut and a cup of coffee.
