[DELETE] Was reading the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman thread below, and something struck me... funkmop New
had zimmerman just called it in and not engaged the kid then there would be no situation.
your continued reference to fighting has no relevance considering one of these people was armed and shot the other in cold blood. its as if you think because he was a decent-sized kid was an equal threat to a grown man with a gun.
zimmerman isn't the victim here and if he wasn't capable of defending himself he shouldn't have engaged the kid to begin with. however, he obviously felt emboldened to do so and that's probably because he didn't think anyone out there walking around had a gun. this is the same mindset of a bully that picks on smaller kids as he knows he has the height and weight advantage.
also, the news coming out also supports the notion zimmerman aggressively followed and engaged the kid. so once again, zimmerman made the first steps towards what happened: not the kid. kid was on the phone with his girlfriend complaining about a grown man following him. now why would a responsible law-abiding grown man do that?
When he chooses to follow the kid and to get out of the car initially, he is escalating the situation.......... Terrell New
I get that, but he initially escalated the situation by his demeanor on the phone w/ the 911 folks.......... Terrell New
And yet, so much of this case revolves around the legality of using force if you feel threatened... Oci-One.Kanubi New
