They group things in 10%, 70%, 20%, then make the broad claim about the 10% paying almost 70% of the taxes and the bottom 50% paying none. But the 50% are paying taxes disproportionate to their income. It may not be federal, but it is taxes on everything they require to "live" as Terrel points out.

What is really disturbing to me is leaving out the filthy rich that pay little to no taxes. The extremely rich corporations, which half a energy companies like PEPCO, that pay no taxes and actually get paid by the Government. At the same time the CEO's of these corporations are getting rediculus bonus's that are not taxed at the same rate as the lower 50%.

If you leave out a whole lot of numbers, you can make your statisitcs read anyway you want - which is, flat and simple, a lie. Fox News is good at that.
