the person being interviewed to identify themselves on tape. That way,
if anything happens to the producer or reporter, if the tape gets sent
with a whole bunch of tapes (or if the media drive does these days),
gets lost, gets found by someone else or if this interview becomes
part of a bulk feed via satellite to a junior producer who doesn't
know who is who, anyone can easily identify the person being
interviewed. "
Now EZ, feel free if you become a TV journalist or documentary producer, to do things your own way, but professionals do this and have for decades and it makes life on the editor's end, that would be MY end, much more faster and foolproof.
