note I'm quite sure it is a generational thing,...

...but for me the period between 1980 and today WRT punk, indie and grunge is a black hole where there was no music at all. Just like my parents who loved Glenn Miller and his youunger brother Roger, they didn't "get" The Rolling Stones, I guess I don't "get" punk, indie and grunnge, seeing little in the way of art in any of it. That's OK, I don't care if you or anyone younger than me likes my music at all or not, it's not important, just like my antipathy towards Lawrence Welk is not important to those who love his music.

The Who yesterday raised goose bumps all over me, I had goose bumps on my toenails, not that that perticular performance was all that great, but that (to borrow a term, thanks, Funk) their legacy came through and spoke to me. If that didn't appeal to you, 'Sok, I didn't get a single thing from Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake's "wardrobe malfunction" performance either, but I'm sure that somebody did.
