as the NPS will already be using our tax dollars to purchase the land at Wood's Ferry and I do not see where it is the responsibility of the private boater to help the land owners simply make more profit.

In my opinion, and that of many others, the owners of the land are unreasonably blocking access to a public resource and so I would suggest that a more effective response by the 15,000 private boaters using the Gauley would be a concerted effort to apply political pressure and push for a condemnation of the land via eminent domain from either the NPS, Nicholas County government, or state of WV.
