Top priority: Make certain whatever skirt you get has an exposed rubber rand which seals against the cockpit rim. Yes, you'll get lots of comments about how this or that seal is "just as good"... but exposed rubber is the reference standard for plastic kayaks.

Second priority: Take your kayak with you when you purchase your skirt, and only buy one which you have personally tried on YOUR kayak. There are amazing variations in sizes, shapes, etc. even between skirts of identical brand, model, and size from reputable manufacturers. Likewise, there are variations between kayaks of the same make and model. You need to be certain that THIS skirt properly fits THIS paddler in THIS kayak. Anything else is just a gamble.

As for specific brands and models, painful experience finally led me to Mountain Surf's Kevlar skirt and its exposed rubber rand. 100% waterproof, not too difficult to put on me or the kayak, and tough as nails. Highly recommended.

Hope this helps!
