I did remove those top screws and the front foam pilar and was able to disconnect everything.  Problem was that, even with the seat all the way back, the adjustable plastic front wall could not come out over the plastic thing on the bottom of the boat (you know... where the water bottle goes for lack of better description).  

What made you decide to put it back in once you got it out?  I was concerned also that once I removed it the front end would be difficult to outfit well with foam.  I'm leaning toward the new boat end of the spectrum myself.
