what EJ has done for the sport of kayaking is more than 99% of us can ever dream of giving back. Imagine, he actually takes the time to tell us  about his experience. I don't idolize EJ or any other athlete, but you gotta' admit that he is a hell of a kayaker!

If you think he's egotistical, then maybe you ought to ask why that is such a big issue. It's what he is, why does it matter so much to you? Maybe you are dissing a well known personality in order to garner attention to yourself?

BTW: I have been told that modesty is not my strong suit. The same could be said of many people on this list. It might be the sport or just another way that peope keep themselves pumped up, but ego is hear to stay!
