I knew Brian from boating on the Green and by paddling with Chris and the boys.  I only knew him for a short time, but in the few times I paddled, and hung out I can say he was no doubt a special person.  Chris said it, Brian was an awesome bro, and he will be missed.
The first time I met Brian was at the Green take-out.  I had just got done paddling with my buddies from Charlotte, and he came up to us wanting to know if anyone wanted to do a second run.  My buddies let me go to my suprise, (they drove, so me doing again would just slow the trrip up) Once we got walking I knew this guy was going to be a friend, he was just totally motivated to boat, even though we were going to have to bomb the run so I could get back home.  We ended up having a great day both running Sunshine and cleaning it.  I knew we'd boat again.
After a couple more times on the river I was lucky enough to paddle with Brian on what had to be one of his proudest days in a kayak.  We, (Brian, some other guys, and I) were going to paddle into the Green to watch our boy Chris G. race the day of the "Hairy Balls Green Race."  After styling Go Left, and everything else we got out at Gorilla to watch the race.  After everyone came through, and styled the Monkey at 250-300% Brian decided to give 'er.  We all were nervous, as he slid into the water, but Brian, the always suprisingly impressive boater he was, greased the whole thing!!  We ran down the rocks whooping and hollering.

We will never forget Brian for his personality, friendship, and talent.
