That was a very nice post Chris.  It's a shame to hear that we've had another loss on the Green, it sounds like Brian had a bad day, was a little lax and paid the ultimate price.

I've seen this happen before at 100%.  A friend on her first time down the Green had a great run down to Gorilla, caught the portage eddie a little low and was so excited and talking that she didn't realize that she was flushing over Pencil Sharpener until it was too late.  She lived but it was quite a bad experience for her and for all involved.

I'm only relating this story here to warn all Green paddlers to be really careful with the portage eddie for Gorilla it is easier to slip out of the back then you might realize.

I'm sorry for everyone who knew Brian, my deepest condolences.
